WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! Our staff is enthusiastic and committed in continuing to work hard as we strive towards achieving academic excellence for all of our students. We are continuing our work with the establishment of Go Math for (TK-6th), and our new Language Arts and English Language Development Program Wonders.
For our students to be successful in school it is very important that they receive a lot of encouragement and support at home. Please participate in school activities and help your children to realize that receiving an excellent education should be a main priority for them to do well in life. Information will also be available at the beginning of the year on our School Site Council, English Learners Advisory Committee as well as other volunteer activities for you to participate in helping Saul Martinez to be a great place to learn!
Uniforms: As requested by our School District Board, we will continue having our students, wear uniforms and this policy will be enforced. Shirts or blouses must have a collar. These can be a solid color in white. T-shirts with the Saul Martinez logo are fine and more will be sold during the school year. Boys are encouraged to tuck their shirts in. Bottoms (pants, skirts, shorts, or dresses, etc.) are to be in navy blue. Jeans or jean types of material clothing are okay. Please make an appointment to see us if you have a question about the uniform requirements.
School Hours: School begins at 8:15 AM. and will dismiss at 2:45 PM. Every Wednesday beginning with the first week of school, we will have an "early release day". On Wednesdays, students will be dismissed from school at 1:45 PM. In the morning, students should not be in school any earlier than 7:45 AM because there is no supervision before that time. Parents will be contacted if this is a problem.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support and look forward to another successful year for our children.
and Saul Martinez School Staff
